How Are Love Pearls Implanted?

There are two current methods for implanting Love Pearls used in Asia. The Piercing technique and the Implant technique;

• Piercing Technique

In the Piercing technique, a large gauge piercing needle is used to create a hole in the shaft of the penis. A taper is used to enlarge the hole to implant the bead, which is pushed in by a second rod. The incisions are then closed with either a standard suture or butterfly bandage. • Implant Technique

In the Implant technique a single incision is formed in the skin using a scalpel, and a spatula is inserted into this incision and used to create a pocket under the skin. Why Get Love Pearls Implanted?

Anthropological researchers have suggested that these "sexual artifacts" love pearls indicate that increasing sexual pleasure for the partner is emphasized in the sexual cultures of many East and South-East Asian populations. What Are Love Pearls Exactly?

The technical term for "Love Pearls" is "Genital Beads". They are also called "Penile Implants" or in medical terms "Artificial Penile Implant Nodules".

Genital Beads are round spherical balls that are made in a variety of sizes and can be constructed from many different of materials, including titanium, gold, silver, jade, precious stones, pearls, glass, plastic polymers, stainless steel and ceramic products. ( Cohen EL, Kim SW. Subcutaneous artificial penile nodules. British Journal of Urology 1982; 127:135)

Genital Beads have also been known to be constructed from ivory, tin and individual grains of rice

What is Genital Beading? aka "Love Pearling"?

Genital beading is "a process of body modification which involves the implantation of beads under the subcutaneous tissue of the penis" leading to "a condition best defined as artificial penile modules". (Nitidandhaprabhas P, 1975, Artificial Penile Nodules: Case Reports from Thailand: British Journal of Urology: 47:4: 463-463)

In other terms, Genital beading involves implanting beads just under the skin tissue along the shaft of the penis. These beads may be implanted by themselves alone or along with many others to create different patterns on the penis shaft.

Historical Narratives of Love Pearls

The earliest written records of "Love Pearling" come from the writings of the Chinese Muslim scholar Ma Huan 馬歡, who accompanied Admiral Zheng He on his voyages to the Western Oceans between 1405-1433 during the Ming Dynasty. Ma Huan travelled on three of the seven naval expeditions and took notes about the people geography, socio-economics, and the traditions and customs of the lands visited.

In 1451 he published an account of his travels titled "The Overall Survey of the Ocean's Shores" where he described the practices of love pearling of the local Dai people (now in present day PRC, Thailand, and Laos) which were originally performed as rituals celebrating age or class status.

"...when a man reached his twentieth year they take the skin on his membrum virile and with a fine knife and open it up and insert a dozen tin beads inside the skin....they close it up using medicinal herbs so that it resembles a cluster of grapes....."

"...If it is a King or Chief or wealthy man, they use gold to make hollow beads wherein they place a grain of rice inside.....this makes a tinkling sound and is regarded as very beautiful...."

From the late 16th Century onwards the practice of Love Pearling spread from South East Asia to China proper and from China proper towards Korea and eventually Japan. By the 21st Century the practice of Love Pearling became firmly established across South and North-East Asia. However its original ceremonial and class meanings became removed from its practice, which has evolved into one largely used for its aphrodisiac value. Today, Love Pearls are used across the Asia Pacific region, from Indonesia to Vietnam, to Phillipines, from PRC and Taiwan to Korea and Japan, through to Burma, Laos and Thailand.

In ZhongWen they are called RuZhu. In Talgalog, Balitas. The Hangulmal name is Chagan, while
Japanese and Thais call them TanCho Balls and Fang Muk respectively. Among English speaking Azns theyre euphemistically called Love Pearls, or Dragon Beads.

So what exactly are RuZhu's, Balitas, Fang Muk's, Love Pearls, Chagan and Tancho Balls anyway? If youre an Alpha Asian with little or no idea what these terms mean, then read on to discover a world of opportunity you might never have known existed!!

The Discovery

It all started when I was 17 years old. My godsister at the time was dating a man, lets just call him Vu.

"So Vu's got Dragon Beads" she told me one day.

"What are Dragon Beads?" i asked, ignorant.

"You know, Love Pearls" she explained.

Not wanting to seem the ignorant oaf that I was, I replied "Ohhh, you mean Love Pearls? yeah my ex had those as well" She gave me a knowing look. "So how were they?" she asked. At this point in the conversation, I was thinking "WTF are Love Pearls?" Frantically i searched i mind for all the associations i could think of, and the wheels in my mind started to turn...

"...Love pearls, love pearls...hmmm......well theyre also called Dragon Beads....maybe theyre some kind of lucky charm or something symbolic like Buddha Beads......yeah, they must be like Buddha Beads"

Confident that they must be some kind of bead bracelet symbolising Strength or Love, I replied;

"Oh they were great, yeah, really nice, I was thinking about getting some too..."

She looked at me strangely for a moment, quiet, then suddenly burst out laughing;

"Hahaha! really? yeah you should get them hahahaha! maybe we can get them together hahahaha!!"

Not wanting to seem the fool, I laughed along with her, however inside my mind, her reaction only made me more confused. Later I relayed the story to some guy friends and earnestly asked them to explain what "Dragon Beads" and "Love Pearls" were.

"Theyre little balls you put in your penis!!

"What, inside your penis?"

"No, just under the skin, you know, so that its better for the girl when you make love!!" they explained between fits of laughter. "Oooohhh, okay" I said. Sigh. That explained my Godsisters laughter.

Later I had the chance to speak to both Vu and his best mate Chang ( who also had "Love Pearls") at length about their "Love Pearls" (or "Dragon Beads"as they liked to call them) and they generously shared their accumulated Love Pearl knowledge and narratives.

In a previous post I commented on how the Internet gives us the power to control our reality. The opportunity is always there, you just have to seize it. If you have the time and money to create the images you want to make, then do it like Jennifer Thym, director and producer of the web series Lumina:



She makes a valid point which I've always advocated: find a way to get your movie out there or make one. Screw asking for permission from a studio or asking for validation from a film festival. People have been brainwashed into thinking that qualities movies can only be produced by Hollywood studios or that books should be published by Simon and Schuster or that only newspapers and TV and radio news shows can provide legitimate news stories and opinions.

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit!

Look at the heaping pile of racist garbage that Hollywood has produced over the years. Look at all the books that espouse the same fucking viewpoints over and over. Look at how journalism has degraded into sensationalism and fear mongering.

The Internet is the most direct medium to the people. You present your product or movie or article to viewers, and it either resonates with them or it doesn't. There are flaws to the Internet, and like all things, those flaws are human. The Internet is great, because anybody with enough drive and focus can put a movie out there. The Internet is bad, because any idiot can put a movie out there.

But what the Internet allows for is interaction between content producer and viewer. This interaction blurs the roles of producer and viewer, if the users direct the focus of the content. The producer and viewer can be one and the same, as evidenced by the latest Gunnarolla clip:



We're in an age where user generated content makes up at least half of all the content on the Internet. What drives user generated content is the interaction between producer and reader. This is why you the reader will vote on what Asian American causes will receive the profit from sales of The Alpha Asian Mindset.
